Welcome to my blog, Lord Flea, called that after a famed calypso singer who died too soon. My name is teZa Lord and you can find out all about me on my personal site. Aside from writing I also create art of various types (paintings, drawings, sculpture, gardens), am a filmmaker, sailor, traveler, lifelong yogini and meditator, family son, botanical illustrator, jeweler, grower of tropical bamboos, aficionado of worldwide culture and languages (I speak Spanish and French enough to have a few good laughs, and love to sing Sanskrit chants). I make a mean smoothie and consider myself a pretty good shaker of percussive instruments and am a self-confessed dance-aholic.

By calling myself Lord Flea I attempt to carry on the tradition that Flea started with his jolly openness, strong physicality, his startlingly new (for that time, the fifties) bluntness and outrageous flamboyance. Like him, the original Lord Flea — I sing uplifting songs of and for the people. No disgruntled words here. No dissing of politics, or any others. The people I’m most interested in musing and arting about, are those who understand (or at least suspect) that something about this so-called life we’re living, is ohhhh so much more than we will ever know about facts about. My main interests lie in things we haven’t yet discovered in a test tube, the mysteries, the magic … and what many of us suspect connects us all in this Universe: expanded, unlimited consciousness

Sharing the Mystery is my goal in life. Doing the collective Dance with as many of YOU as I can. Finding others of my tribe and letting it all out, with shouts of YES YES YES!! That’s what this my flavor of spiritual calypso is all about. Joyous rhythms, meandering topics, light-hearted insights — all for fun, discovery, insights — together we sing the praise of being alive.
