Ahhhhh, “I Understand …”

The 4th chakra, the heart region

The seven chakras

We’ve been journeying together up the different levels of human consciousness, step by step. From the very first awareness of being alive, the 1st chakra … when we’re aware of our breath, and the basic ways we take care of ourselves (eating, protecting from the elements, etc.). Then comes the arising awareness of our urge for creativity (both procreative and spiritual) which is the 2nd chakra energy. Next we become aware of, when we embrace our own Power, the 3rd chakra energy being utilized fully. Then, our Big Heart region expands and we feel love for all, starting with our own Self: this is 4th chakra awareness. Now comes our throat region opening, the 5th chakra and after this energy-center’s opening. we can only speak and serve that which is “Truth.” Each of us gets to explore what, exactly, our own “Truth” is. And, in LordFlea’s last post we discussed how it is when we arrive at the 6th chakra, the Third Eye.

The more we allow our “Eye of God” (our 6th chakra energy-center) to open, through accepting that we are One — we become familiar with the sublime state of Oneness, also known as bliss. Or, in yogic terminology: awareness of Oneness is Satchidananda (see last post for a detailed explanation of this Sanskrit word). Some of us, mostly seekers, people who have come to accept that “something more than what we can see is going on here in life,” accept this state of Oneness when they experience it, usually in meditation. Oneness is more than a “state of mind.” Some people deny Oneness, or go through their life not believing this mind-set, expansion of perception is possible. Oneness really is a “state of being” — the sensation, or actual experiential knowledge — that everything in existence is connected energetically, through consciousness.

The more a person accepts that we are ONE, tests it, revels in its glorious ubiquity, the more a person is allowing their energy field to become transparent, and … in time for some, yet for other people, one lightning-strike of awareness is all it takes to become immersed in this state of Oneness (that has no second). This spontaneous kind of awakening, of the spiritual awakening, when the veils of denial are ripped aside and Truth is revealed — is called a Kundalini awakening. It can happen at anytime during a person’s life, but always occurs, like clockwork, at adolescence. Not nurtured, the spiritual urge goes back dormant, where it lies until awakened again. Hopefully, before a person’s final moments here on Earth.

we are ONE

allow our Kundalini energy to arise up to … embracing that … we are ONE

Oneness, my friends, is the state of experiencing there is no separation between anything. Oneness is the condition that naturally happens when we allow our spiritual energy to arise (“spiritualizing” our lower chakras) and work its purifying magic in all the chakras, up to the 7th chakra. The more we visit the 6th chakra, the more we are likely to glimpse the magnificence of the 7th. The 7th chakra is the level of perception of totally understanding we are ONE even when we’re in our so-called “normal” everyday state of consciousness.

In ot6her words, we can feel Oneness when we drive our car, shop in the grocery store, or feed our kids when we have become familiar with 6th chakra energy, and it has become a part of our “normal” consciousness. This is how the 7th chakra Oneness awareness can work in everyday life.

holding the Light

holding the Light of Oneness in our mind’s eye focus

Most people, myself included, have no desire to be in the state of All-Oneness continually. It’s too much! It’s too — too much! A continual state of immersion in Oneness simply doesn’t “fit” well with a family’s demands, most people’s work-necessities, and most of everyone’s modern, so-busy, multi-tasking responsibilities. But some people can manage to function in the “busy world” and still cultivate this state, pretty remarkable, but they do. Usually, it happens to parents after the kids have flown the nest, or after a person’s work-goals have been dealt with. My father-in-law, a successful businessman, chose to remain in the state of Oneness continually in the years before he died. He was then in his nineties.

In yogic scriptures, this 7th chakra state is called Samadhi. This heightened level of perception is all-clear, all-seeing, all-knowing: it’s true understanding. Not the superficial “I know” stuff.

When a person says, “I know, I know,” don’t you usually find out that person is, well, a know-it-all? That they really “think” they know, but … do they? In actuality, I’ve found in my experiences that this kind of person is so filled with their particular idea of “knowing” that they really don’t know at all. They just want you to think they do.

My teacher(s) all say the same regarding spiritual awareness.

“Those who (say or think they) know, don’t know. Those who don’t know … know.”

This is a very common aphorism used by spiritual teachers. I believe it originates from a certain Vedantic sutra, but don’t ask me from which of the Vedas because I don’t know. When I first heard this saying I was stunned, and thought, “Wha…??” I simply didn’t get it. But as time went on, and I kept returning to the ancient teachings (from where this saying originates) … I got it! As one of my teacher explained (I’m paraphrasing here):

“When we stay in the deep peace of our inner self, we are connected to the all-present Self that is everywhere, and everything. There is no longer any separation. No right or wrong, no good or evil. There simply is … Beingness. A person who thinks they know what is right or wrong is coming from their own judgement. Their life-values might be entirely different from yours, or that person’s over there. So, spiritually speaking, any person who says ‘I know’ is only demonstrating what they don’t understand, because a truly understanding gesture would be for a person to say, ‘I want to know more.’ There is always more to know. More to grasp. More to include in the total picture.”

Whenever I meet people who claim they have answers, the kind who make proclamations instead of asking more questions about the situation, I run in the opposite direction. The hasty remark, “I know,” we all know, only stops a conversation short. Here’s how I remember what my main teacher said about this, again paraphrasing.

“To know, is to deeply understand something. There are so many levels of understanding, that for one to honestly say, ‘I know,’ about anything, is really one person’s way of cutting another person off, not wanting to know what the other has to offer about that subject. To presume that one’s ‘knowing’ is better than another’s is highly presumptuous. That, my dear Ones, is not knowing at all. That is, in fact, a demonstration of ego-knowing. And this person who thinks she or he knows, knows not.”

knowing, without truly understanding … is false knowledge

The more we visit the 6th chakra (by meditating, scriptural studies, keeping good company) we learn to think unbiased thoughts, without pre-judgement. This is how we become familiar with the state of “I understand” deep within us. We don’t boast of our understanding aloud, unless we’re asked. Then it’s our duty to help others who have less understanding.

True understanding is a state that leads to pure contentment. Oneness consciousness has no need to boast, no need to be “the best” or “the smartest” or most “popular” or “really spiritual.” The person who happily resides in their 6th and 7th chakras, jumping back and forth from wanting “to see and know as clearly as I can” (the 6th) and “understanding” (the 7th level of awareness) have lives that are filled with contentment.

The mantra “Om” (or Aum to be more Sanskrit-correct) applies to both the 6th and 7th chakras. The color of the “crown chakra” the 7th, is usually described as clear lavender, blue purple, or sparkly violet. It emanates from the crown of the head but encircles the entire body, like a flowing waterfall, refreshing, healing, protecting our body’s entire aura — reaching outward for several feet from our physical selves. I prefer to describe the color that appears in “my mind’s eye” when deep in meditation, as either complete nothingness … which is not “solid” black but motion-filled, energized, shimmering shades of pewter luminescence.

In my experience, I “internally see” sparkles that bubble up from my inner Self, like the way an amethyst crystal throws off combined Clear White Light & Brilliant Lavender-y sparkles. Yes, that’s more of what it feels like to me, when I visit the state of Samadhi (which is the goal of deep meditation, by the way).

we are One

everyone experience Oneness differently

The rare person who resides in their 7th chakra at all times usually has a support system around them to attend to worldly matters such as eating, paying the rent, driving the kids to school, etc. Or … they have chosen to live away from the stimulus (and demands!) of the world. There are great teachers who are blessed to be surrounded by adoring students and caretakers who do all that’s needed for them, so their energies can be devoted purely to spiritual matters. Such is the case of great spiritual teachers today, the same custom its been throughout human history’s yearning to know Spirit.

In my experiences I’ve met only a few individuals who, in my humble opinion, truly live in the state of Oneness consciousness all the time. At least the times I’ve been around “enlightened” teachers. Only one teacher (out of those I’ve studied with for extended periods of time) exhibited this trait of seeing-God-in-All consistently.

From what I’ve seen of the Dalai Lama, only on screens, he appears to also be in this state, which I, and many others, call “sainthood.” I appreciate these people, these great beings. I’m glad they are here to help us all; teaching us who are bungling our ways through the maya of earthly conflict and confusion. Many of us wish to be as happy as we can, here on our challenged, toxic planet Earth. But for me, I’m happy to once in a while visit this state of deep meditation, the 7th chakra, every now and then. I have no desire to reside all the time in the highest state of samadhi. I have no desire to be a teacher. I am happy being an artist who writes.

my role in life is to share my spiritual journey via verse n’ vision

By the way, in yogic tradition, when someone dies we do not say “He died.” We say, instead, “He took mahasamadhi: maha (the highest) samadhi (the state of Oneness.” Isn’t that a wonderful way of putting death? Truly, when we die our spirit returns to that state of Oneness (Spirit IT-self) from which we came when we were born. I know this from my personal experiences (We Are ONE, my book for more). Our spirits get “recycled” so to speak. When I first heard this philosophy (reincarnation in a nutshell), this is the main reason I instantly fell in love with the yogic way of life. It suits me. It makes me smile, and for me, incorporating in my Western life the concepts of Eastern mysticism, the yogic way … makes sense.

I hope you’ve enjoyed our journey up from the 1st to here, the highest state of awareness, the 7th chakra.

Drop me a note below and tell me how what we’ve shared these past weeks makes you feel. Or this post, today! Have you taken the time, lately, to examine your “own life” and … discovered where on the ever-upward journey of awareness, you are? If you haven’t, why don’t you take a few moment now, out of your busy day … or later, and reflect upon this question. I’d love to hear from you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Self-inquiry is an excellent topic … for our next post together!

Lord Flea has done it again!

I speak .. with opened throat

WeAreONE

We Are ONENESS

How do you like the “NEW LOOK” of my blog? Yay or nay, I appreciate your comments (easy way is right below this post).

I’m preparing to launch my first BOOK CAMPAIGN! How exciting! How Thrilling! And in many ways: How Exhausting! But … a good kind of exhaustion.

I’m sure you’ve all felt that well-deserved sense of having put a huge effort into something, and … finally coming up to the last final stretch, when you need the necessary push … when you’re right on the edge of exhaustion and would rather go to the beach, or take a sail, or go to a movie. BUT you have to keep pushing cuz …. you’re almost there! And if you stop now, the momentum might be tainted, or even lost, maybe forever.

Yes, I’m at that stage right this minute. This publishing-a-book business is mighty taxing. The writing of the book is one thing. In my case, I’m slow even though I type as fast as I think. Thank goddess for that talent, honed from my earliest teen years as an avid writer. Each of my books (I’ve completed more than you can imagine!) takes many years to finish. Sometimes there’s years in between when I finish one draft and when I pick up the manuscript again.

This upcoming book that will NOW BE PUBLISHED has been in the development, writing, polishing, read and commented upon by others, researched, more editing — for the last 15 years. I’m serious! That’s when the idea first came to me, to write about ….

My experience of teaching at-risk, hardcore repeat juvie offenders in high-security prison the techniques I myself use, of MindStilling — coincides with the imminent arrival of a major hurricane’s exact eye. The two stories weave together, presenting dramatic opportunity like nothing else, and guess what? This is what really happened.

As the storm inches slowly toward the girls’ isolated prison, the yoga-girls learn to focus on the calm within themselves … this is their inner “I” … instead of being freaked out by the outer storm’s hurricane’s eye.

The ancient techniques of breath, focus, strengthening, and alignment with the Great Heart instead of being locked in fear: these are some of the benefits of a regular yoga and meditation practice. My yoga-girls-in-lockup got to experience their practice’s other benefits too: a stronger more supple body, better muscle coordination, balance, grace, and general all-over confidence in themselves. Right away, from the first lesson, their BODIES were revealed to them — for the very first time in their young lives — that they themselves, at their core, were the best teacher they could find if no other was around. The body’s ability to maintain a pose, breathe calmly, steady the mind, literally blew my yoga-girls away!

The class was called “Empowerment Techniques” by Ursula, the facility’s director, to allow for Medicaid funding. Just think! The US government paid for yoga classes to girls in lockup waaaaay back in the 90s. Eventually I was hired by another juvie lockup facility as well. Many at-risk girls got to explore their inner calm, the “I” within, through these classes we held for years in central Florida, where I live, where I raised my family.

salute to the sun

basic yoga EMPOWERS even the most fearful, weakest, least happy

My yoga-girls, as I call them, had their minds blown away when they took their very first deep breath! Such is the power of deep breathing. Most of them had never learned to breathe deeply, so their brains and muscles were oxygen-deficient. Imagine how great it feels to take in ONE BREATH and instantly feel “lights going off in my head!” That’s what every new girl in class exclaimed! That’s the power of breath, my friends. My yoga-girls experienced the magic of this ancient self-discipline of the union of body-mind-spirit from the moment they stepped into my area, a designated “spot” in a high security state-funded prison. Over our class of 12 girls who volunteered for class we had a guard on duty, as always, their constantly chattering walkie-talkie radio chirping at their fingertips. Sometimes the guard would join us, sometimes they only scowled. No matter!

Doing Yoga Doing Time. Those of us who practice yoga, consider ourselves blessed. I hope this book inspires many people who haven’t, to give the empowerment tools of a yoga practice, a chance. Change happens only when … change happens.

there's always hope

there’s always hope

Being a writer (and a narrative-driven artist, always a story to paint or sculpt) makes me hyper-aware of the power of the fifth chakra, today’s post and also the subject of LordFlea’s last post. Ever since I embraced my life’s destiny, a spiritual artist who writes, I have been focused on how to communicate the ideas that I explore in and through my work.

The throat area, the region of the 5th chakra, is exactly about — opening up, not being shy, not hiding, but speaking, communicating, spreading Truth, negating un-truth whenever possible.

I remember years back hearing one of my teachers say:

“All you artists, dancers, musicians, writers, and any other kind of creatively expressing person, business people, scientist, all creative sorts — you’re only half an artist unless you get your work OUT so the rest of the world can SEE and FEEL and be affected by your creative, new-idea endeavors. Don’t stop just because after creating something. Go all the way and make that work available to anyone who wants to participate in the energy you’ve created. The world needs all the help from you creative souls as it can get!”‘

Spiral #9, mixed media, 32“x45”x7“

share creative energies to HEAL our selves first, then to heal our WORLD

I took this message to heart. For years I’ve been preparing to publish books. Regular readers of LordFlea know this already. And yes, I have made serious attempts to get the work seen by “conventional channels.” I even had, at two different times, years apart, seriously influential, top notch New York literary agents represent my work. But in both instances (the latest one just this past year) the result was disappointing. For whatever reason the commercial publishers who reviewed my work always declined to take me on. So after a few tears I always did the same dance to the same tune — “pick yourself up, dust yourself off … and start all over again.” That’s what I’ve been doing for … well, you don’t want to know how long. Let’s just say, my own yoga practice has taught me patience and perseverance like I never had before. Today, I am an extremely patient person. Before a regular practice, I was all about gotta get it here-and-now, or more like, yesterday for pete’s sake!

Now I’m doing for myself what I would have had to do anyway IF a “regular” publisher had taken on this book I’m presenting soon. All authors have to do their own marketing these days. Artists of all sorts know what I’m talking about. These days, i you want your work to be SEEN, HEARD and FELT by others, we must design and “milk” our “platform.” (That’s funny, milking a platform, hmmmm)

That’s why you’ll be seeing a lot more of me, hearing more from mel. Maybe you’ve been wondering what the heck has gotten into LordFlea/teZa? This is 5th chakra energy I’m generating now, folks. I am super-charging my 5th chakra reserves … getting public, and speaking my Truth like never before. This is the “I speak NOW” part of the uprising of one’s energy, one’s consciousness, that we’ve been exploring these past weeks, exploring the chakras in these LordFlea posts. (And no, this is not a subject I’ve written a book about — yet!)

Maybe it’s a matter of the universe being in tune with an individual, what makes some of us more able to PUT OUR WORK OUT than others. For me, it was a major step to start this blog, nearly 10 years ago. Getting public is … scary in many ways. Writing my posts have made it easier for me, because this blog IS public. LordFlea has helped me to get over being rejected by the “big guys” in the publishing world. Today, I don’t give a hoot about them, because I happen to be a big guy, a wonder woman-version myself. Seriously. It’s taken me this long to let-go of all the holding-backs, doing my spiritual work, and of course writing and arting my ass off for decades! to get here, right now, right here. Ready to publish my books. (subjects range from true gritty stories … to magical realism … to inspiring … from nonfiction to fiction, you name it, I’d written it!)

Today, I feel my throat chakra is wide open. I’m able to feel my work IS good (proven by the 2 lit agents who wouldn’t have wasted their time if they felt otherwise). And most importantly, I realize that the world NEEDS the work I’ve so assiduously been doing and my time is NOW to get it out to the public.

Our stressed-out world needs to know that right within every person’s own being, just as the yoga-girls in lockup found out in our class, every person has the power to change themselves. Just by wanting to. Being aware of needing to change is all it takes — for change to start happening. Of course, having someone demonstrate, or share books like I’m doing, about how change can be done, helps enormously. That’s why I call myself a spiritual activist. It’s my job … to spiritually help others who are interested in uplifting their perspective on things.

I’m not sharing the title of my upcoming book, not quite yet. First, I’m readying to send out my first author’s campaign. That’s a series of emails sent to people who have asked to be included on my email list. I hope you will be one of these. You can either send me your email right below (and comment how you like LordFlea’s “new LOOK” if you like) or you can find the email form on my blog’s sidebar (somewhere to right on your computer screen, and mobiles, sorry, i dunno where?). I’m still a little dizzy/lost in this new “look” of LordFlea myself, and I’m the one who created it! (yesterday, duhhh) But I think it’s way more fun than the old “look” so thanks for coming to my blog!

Remember, the throat chakra is about speaking Truth. Once your Big Heart (not the “organ” heart) has been opened, you have no other choice but to speak, and spread Truth.  Today I’m more AWARE of operating from this opened 5th-chakra energy center. The throat chakra’s mantra is Ham … its color is pure sky blue.

2nd chakra is orange

5th chakra is sky blue

Come back real soon (or sign up for email notification, also on my sidebar) because next we’ll explore the 6th chakra, the Third Eye, the “eye of God.” Wow. How awesome is that!

Love all ways, LordFlea aka teza

(leave me your comments here, and your email for my info-list, thanks!)

BE Love

The 4th chakra, the heart region

The 4th chakra, the heart region

If this invitation sounds like a command, so be it. I can’t stress how important it is to let your heart chakra open. When you have done the preparatory work (review chakras 1-3 in previous posts) you will have, by now, embarked upon the “Purification Process.”

This only happens for those who WANT to know Oneness. Oneness is another name for Love, the unattached, un-objectified variety. Love is also known as God, and for those who call themselves seekers, spiritual, or children of God, Love is like the air we breathe. Love IS Spirit. The other types of people, those not interested in knowing Spirit say, quite frankly, “I don’t give a damn, Scarlett!”

And that’s okay. If this world were filled with everyone open-hearted, open-minded, what an ever so dull world this would be. In fact, it wouldn’t be Earth. Because, from time immemorial, we humans have known nothing but strife, hardship, and challenges to hurdle over on our quests to know Spirit. Some say that Earth is like a spiritual school that souls are sent to, before they can become truly set free from the physical bond, i.e., the body, in which their spirit dwells.

I don’t know about that precisely. But hey, why not! Stranger things have been found to be true. Like the “Light” that all people who are revived from having experienced death actually say they went to, usually through a tunnel. They arrive at “the other side” and “see” the similarly described Light. Thousands of these experiences are recorded. They see the Light and then are yanked back into their bodies, usually with the message, “It’s not your time yet, Rhett.”

Allow your your frozen heart to melt

The greatest thing that’s ever happened to me has been to experience my heart opening. After that happened, all things became possible. I fell in love for the first time in my life; I married the man of my heart, we are a family, and we are living happily ever after. When my heart-opening happened, believe me, I knew it. Life forever afterwards has taken on a different perspective.

A person who has survived death (returned from being “dead”) is called an NDE (Near Death Experience). Their lives are usually forever changed, also. This sort of person, whether they talk openly about it or not, has a strong belief in Spirit, because, well, they’ve experienced “It” first hand. After experiencing what awaits for all of us at the end of our physical life here on earth, once an NDE gets “yanked back” from the Light, they all have a drastically altered outlook on life.

The same holds true for heart-opened folks. So make up your mind. You certainly don’t have to wait for something as radical as approaching death to happen for you to embrace what’s inevitably going to be part of your life, at the very end if not sooner. Embrace the experience of your once closed, or half-closed heart, fully opening.

Compassion HEALS All Wounds

Carry the banner of your Big OPEN Heart!

My meditation teacher tells us, “The reason we meditate is to experience a ‘mini-death.’ Because in the state of non-thought, when we visit the state of pure awareness without the associated mental gymnastics attached to our usual understanding, meditation is the reverse of this … when you sit to meditate it’s like agreeing to die a little bit, right then. Our ego dies a little more. Until eventually we are left with full awareness, pure clear consciousness, unobstructed Oneness. And the more we practice our mini-deaths by meditating, the more we’re prepared to live full and happy lives! And of course, the easier it will be to make the last transformation that happens at the end of our physical life. Our actual deaths.”

What I’ve written above is a paraphrase of what the meditation teacher taught us, her students. So my friends, I advise you to meditate as much as you can if you wish to experience the opening of your heart chakra. And chant as much as you can, also. Chanting, singing the sacred Names of the Divine in whatever discipline or culture to which you adhere, is one a powerful tool, a spiritual discipline that stills the mind and opens the heart. Vibrating with sound prepares us for a deep experience in meditation. The vibration of the heart chakra, set off by making sound within ourselves — is so beneficial. I can’t begin to describe how wonderful it is, to chant in a group especially! I regularly chant with our sangham, a group of seekers, and have hosted such gatherings for many years, both in my home and in a local yoga studio.

Ommmmm

Make the sound of Ommmmm

A simple chant of Ommmmm (the “seed” mantra) is a lovely place to start. You can pronounce it A-u-m if you want to be more Sanskrit-correct, but Om works. The mantra associated with the heart chakra is Yam. The affirmation is “I am love.” The color associated with this chakra is brilliantly sparkling, emerald green. Yam is a splendid sound to make. I like to think of it as Yummy Yam (the way I remember Yam associated with the heart, which feels so warm and expansive when we eat something yummy, or spend time with someone who feels yummy delicious to be with).

Let me know how your Big Heart is feeling right now. This is the part of you that’s connected to ALL. I’m not talking about your actually thump-thumping muscle-organ called “heart” here. The heart chakra is the “psychic organ” called by spiritual teachers throughout the world, our Big Heart.

I love painting and drawing it. Here’s my version once again. Envision this gigantic burst of love within your chest in your heart region. Let its fullness fill your entire chest cavity. This chakra is also called the “cave of the heart.” Open your dark cave. Let pure Love shine its Light within you. Open to this magnificent, all-encompassing Beingness.

Be LOVE

fill yourSelf with LOVE

Be LOVE … let your Big Heart OPEN

Please leave me a note here and tell me how your heart region feels today. Open, or stuck? I’d like to hear from you. Thanks.

whatever you DO is the 3rd chakra energy directing you

As we continue exploring the raising-up of our consciousness using the yogic system of chakras to help us better understand who and what we are, we are now at the third chakra, known as the seat of our personal power. This is an energy center most humans (not in a coma) experience on a regular basis. The next chakra, the heart chakra, is where we start on our spiritual journey. Truly! Stay tuned for next post. (Sign up on my blog and receive each post via email.)

If any of you have ever been forced to do something absolutely aligned with, or totally against your will, you are familiar with that “good warm feeling” or the opposite, the aching discomfort in your midsection, close to your navel. Both reactions, opposing yes I know, are referred to as a “gut reaction” or a “feeling in my gut.”

A good reaction: Let’s say you’ve just met someone/thing who rings your bell. You feel this instantly in your gut. Sometimes the reaction almost knocks you backward. Have you ever felt it? This is your own intuition telling you that something is very right about this person (a dog, a cat?) you’re meeting. It could be a business contact, a romantic interest, but whatever it is, it’s someone/thing you’ll greatly benefit from spending some time with, learning more about them.

A bad reaction is the other kind of gut feeling, an uncomfortable ache, and sometimes it’s harsher, like a punch. This is a negative reaction to whatever you are facing. Maybe it’s a person, but it could be a job, a house you’re not supposed to buy, a type of food you’re not meant to eat. I hope you pay attention to these uncomfortable signs from your own inner knowing, as well as the more intriguing signs that make you want to know more.

Both reactions, good or bad, if those word judgements apply (better choice is interesting or not interesting) — they come from your 3rd chakra center of energy, located very close to your navel. But the sensation can come anywhere in your midsection. (See my earlier post if you want more detailed description).

Ghandi’s mantra was Ram Ram Ram. People who were there say this was the last thing he spoke as he lay dying from an assassin’s bullet. Ram is also the mantra for the 3rd chakra, where we are made to be aware of what our will is. In Ghandi’s case, I’m sure he worked hard to align his will to the highest good. Every time I repeat the mantra for the 3rd chakra, my intention is to gain insight into what is best, for not only myself, but for my fellow humans and the entire planet.

We Are ONE … Act and Do for the world’s highest good, not just your own

Sometimes we have to change our thinking, or our habits, when we become aware of what’s best for the highest good, rather than seeking to satisfy our own. Sometimes our “gut reaction” is based on our limited view, not a universally encompassing one.

I pray for our world to face these challenging times we’re all going through these days, with compassion and open-mindedness for what is best for all of humankind. I think it’s easy for people to forget that. That we can pray for change, to feel better about our uncomfortability (how’s that for a word?). When our own personal will gets damaged by things not going our way, we insist our way is the only way. If our 3rd chakra is always in a state of distress, it’s time to ask our self:

Perhaps I need to look at the bigger picture. Perhaps what’s happening (either in my own life or in world events) might be for the highest good of all, even if I don’t like it. Transformation is a great sea change. Many people get extremely nervous when things don’t go their way.

Spend time with your own 3rdd chakra, ask yourself, “Am I comfortable with what’s happening?”

If you answer, “NO!” then it’s time to take some action. You have a choice, don’t forget. Always, you have choices. If you’re uncomfortable with things around you, your choice is to either practice ACCEPTING that what’s happening, is happening. Or … you can take steps to change it.

This, in essence, is why I am a writer and an artist. This also, is why most people do what they do. Because I have never been happy with the materialism and non-spirituality of modern society, in my youth, I ran away from it. I fled to the Third World and stayed living in jungles and sailing on the deep blue sea for over a decade. When I came back to mainstream America, I swore I would use my talents of arting (creating object- and word-stories) to help others become more familiar with the Oneness Consciousness that, to me, is what this existence, called “life” is all about. You may call that consciousness something else: Nature, God, Allah, Spirit, whatever. But Oneness works for me.

These days I focus on what I can DO to be more comfortable in a world torn apart by divisiveness and materialism. I don’t run away anymore. Today I feel just great, actually, that my focus is on DO-ing, and not feeling weird, mad, confused, or … worse … destructive. My energy used to be “stuck” in the 2nd chakra, feeling pissed-off. Now my energy feels free and powerful, utilizing the direction the 3rd chakra connection gives me.

I share my experiences in hopes that each and every person realizes that when you get “signals” from your gut, that’s your 3rd chakra telling you something. Pay attention. If you numb it (with drugs or alcohol, shopping, work, gambling, or other addictions) — you’ll probably just get sick, sooner or later. You certainly won’t be happy, that’s a fact. If you work on clearing this disturbed energy from your solar plexus (another name for the 3rd chakra) … you will enjoy peace, happiness, and good health. Align your will with the highest, Ram, Ram, Ram.

And please, let me know how your inner power feels today. Sit quietly and ask yourself, “What is this weird feeling I get in my gut?” I want to know. Leave me your comment below. And don’t forget, I’m sending out a free mind-stiller audio-clip for people who leave me their emails. Below is an easy way I’m experimenting using. Please fill in and let’s BE CONNECTED! Tell me how your “gut” is feeling today.

I love you, each and every one of you. Your pal, teZa aka LordFlea
